Welcome to The Hop Pocket Shopping Village

The Hop Pocket Shopping Village is unique. It is a collection of independent shops offering an alternative to both the high street and characterless out of town shopping. We are spread over a number of old agricultural buildings, one of which is some large hop kilns on two levels connected by three staircases and a lift. We are mainly under one roof and our car park is large, free and no distance at all. We have something for everyone!

Opening Times

Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm (Cafe closes 4pm)

Sunday 10.30am to 4pm (Cafe closes 3.30pm)

In the restaurant we serve breakfast from 10am (10.30am Sundays), main meals from 12pm until 2.15pm and cake until 4pm (3pm Sundays).

We are closed on Mondays except for Bank Holidays when we are open 10am to 5pm.

Dogs at The Hop Pocket

We love dogs, but the shops are not the greatest place for them! Dogs are allowed on a lead in the car parks, covered courtyard and covered outdoor cafe next to the play area, but not in the shops or inside restaurant. All guide and support dogs are allowed in the shops, as are dogs that are carried. We do not allow loose dogs on site at all.

Outdoor covered seating area

We have built a covered seating area that can accommodate about 60, and it allows us to serve our homemade lunches, tea coffee and cake outside. We are not taking bookings, but seating customers on a first come first served basis.

Lunchtime eats- very good. Always busy. Tried before Xmas- completely full Stop here from time to time visiting relative. Great shopping experience with different gift stores, garden centre, wine store, butchers etc etc. This time we were able to eat- previously just before Christmas if was completely full. Sums up how popular it is and the quality of the food brings people back time after time. Ham Egg and chips was very good as was the chilli- not too hot- nicely served half rice and half chips-could have had either but the server suggested that which I was pleased with. Only issue is that there is generally only one person taking orders- get your table number first- it can be a long wait.

Time for tea and yummy home made cakes This is a little gem of a place to take mother for tea. It is set in an oasis of amazing gift stores to look around and even a tiny garden centre. The home made cakes and tea is delicious and well priced. They also do nice lunches.

Fabulous place to spend the afternoon Called in for a look around with the residents from the care home where I work. It was easy to park for our minibus and level access into the shopping village. It was well laid out and the café area was lovely with some great art on the wall. The tea, coffee and cakes that we ordered were delicious and great value. Looking forward to coming back again!
