Homemade Cakes at the Hop Pocket
The restaurant at the Hop Pocket allows you to enjoy morning coffee, a light farmhouse cooked lunch and of course our scrumptious homemade cakes. Our food is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. Lunches are served everyday that we are open between 12pm and 2pm. Either side of lunch we serve coffee, tea and homemade cakes.

Farmhouse Cooks

We are fiercely proud of our farming heritage and links with the local community at the Hop Pocket. This is perhaps most obvious in the kitchen where genuine farm housewives cook up the food that we serve. The range of dishes is extensive, with the emphasis being on wholesome food at a reasonable price.

Homemade Food

Homemade at the Hop Pocket means made by our cooks in our kitchen. Everything from the soup, to the lasagne, to the quiche is made by Sue, Kate and Maggie.
Audrey is the secret ingredient in our scrumptious cakes, she usually bakes them twice a week.

Fresh is Best

We use the freshest, most local ingredients we can. All our meat comes from our own butcher Pete, his shop ‘The Cutting Block’ is just around the corner. We buy as much of our fruit & veg as we can from Worcester Produce (who source from their own farms in the Vale of Evesham) and we get milk from the local milkman.
Along with our food, Jane and Sue M keep our service 'fresh'.
We serve a traditional roast lunch every Sunday. For bookings please call 01531 640323

The Craft Shopping Village opened in 2003 to compliment the Craft Centre. The Village is housed in a large set of old hop kilns, covering two floors that are accessible by a lift and three staircases.

Nowherelse Gifts & Crafts offers all sorts of wooden toys and items, many of which can be personalised. Runaway Designs has scarves, bags and jewellery.
A large space is given over to the GreenStage Gallery which specialises in affordable and original contemporary art by emerging and established artists in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Completing the line up is the Print Room, which has a selection of unmounted, mounted and framed prints of the countryside, animals and country pursuits.
Tucked away at the back is 'The Year of the Hop' exhibition, put together by the Bromyard & District Local History Society, it shows the hop growing process through the ages and the social side of the hop industry.

Dried Hop Garland

Dried Hop Garland

£27.00

HOP GARLANDS ARE NOW ONLY AVAILABLE IF COLLECTED FROM THE CRAFT CENTRE.

PRICE OF £27 INCLUDES DELIVERY. 2011 garlands now available.

Hops are a natural product so every garland is different. As a rule of thumb they are approximately eight to ten feet long (2.4 to 3m) and about one foot thick (30cm).

Dried hop garlands (hop bines or hop vines) used as a natural decoration for many years. These hop garlands look fantastic on a beam, over an inglenook or over the top of kitchen cupboards. The garland is about ten feet long with hops along at least eight foot of it. The price shown INCLUDES carriage.

We grow two main varieties. The first is traditional which means they have a bushy head of hops that tapers gradually to a bare tail at the other end, you can expect at least six feet (1.8m) of really good hops before it starts to thin out. The second variety is a thinner, but more even garland, with more consistent amount of hops all the way along and much better suited to going along beams than traditional varieties. If you would like a particular shape of garland please specify this at the checkout 'special delivery instructions'

These garlands have been grown, dried and treated here at the Hop Pocket allowing a longer season. Dried garlands are available from the end of August right through to the following summer, we keep them in the cool and dark which helps to preserve them. As with any dried flower the hop garland is quite delicate and needs careful treatment, instructions will come in the box, but it is vital that the hop is hung as soon as possible (ideally straight into place). It is not unusual to have some petals drop in the box, but this does not affect the quality of the garland.

Because a hop garland is a bulky thing we have priced them to include the carriage.

We have been growing hops for over a hundred years, in the last twenty years we have been drying hop garlands specifically for decoration.

We send dried hops out early in the week (usually a Wednesday) to avoid the chance of the hop being stuck in a courier depot over the weekend. If you have any special requirements please contact us before purchase or indicate them at the checkout in the 'Enter any special delivery instructions' box.

You will not be charged until the hop has been dispatched and we will email you to notify you that it has been sent. If you have any questions please contact us.
